The key to Multi-level marketing (MLM) is finding prospects that are interested in the opportunity. To make that happen, you must have proper methods of MLM lead generation. If you do so correctly, you will end up with better leads and a better shot at growing your MLM business faster.

MLM lead generation is not a quick process. It, in fact, takes time and work. The first thing you must do is look through demographics to find the right prospects. Your initial MLM lead generation list may get its start from advertising campaigns or other tools. Most business owners use a variety of sources and methods to get their initial MLM lead generation list. Remember, “the money is in the list”. Grow a great list to work and your business will flourish. Qualify those leads well and your time will pay off in extra profits. Lead generation is not a given, but rather is a process that must be learned and tweaked to an art.

A good MLM lead generation process will bring you prospects through the use of all the best online and offline tools available. The process should bring you leads that move fluidly from contact to sales to recruitment. The methods can be the purchasing of MLM lead lists, telemarketing, or even direct traditional mailing campaigns. Email campaigns do not seem to work as well as they once did. This is because people have become “numb” to all of the so called spam on the internet.

30 Amazing Ways To Jump Start Your Network Marketing Business

15.02.2010

Getting your home based or network marketing business started correctly is critical..Network marketing is a business of duplication. Business builders will duplicate what you do, good or bad.

In my organization, we do not allow anyone to slip underneath the fence. We make sure to position people for success by helping them get started correctly.

Here are some things to do to get started:

1. Make sure you have a strong and clear why and be crystal clear about what you want to accomplish.

2. Make sure you have made a decision based on facts that you have verified. Do not chose a company or business based on hype and promises.

3. Put your goals in writing and in a place where you will see them every day. Get help with this if you need it.

4. Inform your spouse or significant other of your decision.

5. Make the decision and commitment to treat your business like a business.

6. Create a workspace in your home where you can work undistracted.

7. Do whatever it takes to build your belief in your company, the products, business model and your ability to achieve your goals.

8. Get fully trained in your company’s policies, procedures and systems. Do not start prospecting and trying to tell other people about your business until you are fully trained. You do not have to know all of the nitty gritty details, but do need to know enough to start prospecting correctly.

9. Find mentors in your support line who will do enough presentations for you until you are ready to do them on your own.

10. Find and join an active accountability team in your company, who will help hold your accountable for your goals, activities and results. Find a team that will also support you and celebrate your successes.

11. Find a strategic business partner.. Look for ones that have the same objective. You can trade leads, share marketing info, sell package deals, etc.

12. Brand your name and business. You can easily do this by just writing articles and submitting them to e-zines or web sites for republishing. If you do not know how to or do not want to write your own articles, you can go to an article directory and find free articles for distribution.

13. Start a personal website. The type of website should tell your story. and why you have chosen your business. You’ll draw traffic with a blog and articles

14. Remember to take a little time out of your day or week to brainstorm. New ideas are usually the difference between success and failure

15. Model other successful business or people. I’m not saying out right copy them, but practice some of the same habits that have made them succeed.

16. Take risks to improve your business. Sometimes businesses don’t want to advertise unless it’s free, sometimes you have to spend money to get results.

17. Ask people to review your web site. You can use the comments you get to improve your web site or you may turn the reviewer into a customer.

18. Out source part of your workload. You’ll save on most employee costs. You could out source your secretarial work, accounting, marketing, etc.

19. Develop, build and maintain a contact list with at least 100 names.

20. Carry your contact list with you at all times. It is easy to do, you can keep a small pocket sized spiral notebook with you.

21. Learn and master at least three to five reaching out methods.

22. Learn how to network both offline and online.

23. Start building or expanding your warm market business network by participating in activities that will help you meet business minded people. this may include chambers of commerce, Toastmasters, Rotary, Kiwanis, business referral clubs, college alumni associations and volunteer organizations.

24. Start reading and observing forums, posts and profiles in online networking communities such as Direct Matches, Ryze, Fast Pitch, ecademy and Linked In.

25. Learn how to effectively set quality business appointments. Duplicate what other successful business builders do.

26. Get to know what experienced networkers are doing and saying by reading the forums such as mlmforums.com, one of the largest.

27. Add two new names to your contact list each day.

28. Find resources to continue building your skills and knowledge.

29. Study and practice the core critical business building activities on a regular basis.

30. Study and practice the core skills of listening, natural selling, contacting and inviting, presenting and follow up on a regular basis.

Getting Serious About Network Marketing

Network marketing is a business model that has very similar characteristics to franchising. However the advantage that it has over traditional franchising includes a low cost of entry and high potential revenue possibilities.

What types of people are attracted to a network marketing opportunity? Generally the types of people who are attracted to network marketing are unhappy in their careers and have generally not received the levels of success that they expected. They look upon working as being hard and involving long hours. They are also unhappy with their income and what the future holds for them. They have little or no experience of owning their own business and would not have the capital to invest in starting up and running their own business. Often they have no direct experience of sales or of business development.

Therefore when they start up their network marketing career the often make a series of errors. They attempt to use social settings to sell their products and while doing that try to oversell. Often they are inaccurate in their statements. This results in an air of desperation and lack of trust. The focus is purely on acquiring new customers instead of developing and maintaining existing ones.

Making a move towards network marketing should be viewed as if you are just as starting up your own small business. Therefore you must be prepared to develop expertise in all aspects of running a small business. A serious commitment is needed with regards to educating yourself on sales and marketing techniques, networking skills, financial planning, time management etc.

The processes should also be in place to run your business. Your home office, your communication channels, how you market yourself, your selling techniques, how you control your finances, etc., will all add up to how successful you will be. As you are working for yourself you will need to develop the motivational skills and determination to succeed. This can be helped by participating in a network or community.

Once these business skills are in place then you will be viewed as an expert in your field. This will help to build your reputation and levels of trust. People will view you as a serious business owner with a developing reputation for quality. And within the business world a good reputation develops trust, confidence and repurchase.

Have you ever wished you could make some extra money for the things you have always wanted, without having to check the balance in your checkbook first? Do you have enough money saved to take care of those emergencies should they arise. Do you have to save money all year, to take a family vacation or a second honeymoon? How about buying a new car or some of those toys like your friends have?

Are you worried that you might have to work a part-time job, to make ends meet, but you do not want to lose time with your friends and family? Have you ever thought about starting your own online business from home to make extra money or maybe to replace your current JOB some day? Of course the biggest question everyone asks is, “Can I really make a good living, with an online business from home?” The answer is, YES you can!

There are many online businesses from home which will produce the necessary income to set you financially free. You must protect yourself and do not get caught up in any online scams. Make sure you do a thorough research of all the online businesses you are considering! Research them in all the major Search Engines to see what other people are saying about these opportunities you are considering. There are thousands of Forums related to online business. Participate in a few forums and ask questions concerning the programs that interest you. You will likely find people who have already tried some of the programs and based on their observations, you can save yourself a lot of time and money. Keep in mind, even legitimate companies will get some negative responses, but the positive will far outweigh the negative.

Don’t get me wrong, there are many honest and legitimate ways to start a business from home, however, be aware of all those scams waiting to clean out your wallet. The intention is not to try and scare you from pursuing your dream. You just need to do the research, and you will find the honest and legitimate businesses from home. It is not difficult to see the difference between the legitimate online businesses and the scams. Remember, If it sounds too good to be true, Then it is!

You should be able to communicate with a legitimate company, either by email or telephone. If you are consistently running into brick walls trying to get answers to your questions, be a little leery. You should be able to get a real person to answer your email with answers to your questions. It may take a day or two, but if they are honest and legitimate, you will get a real person to reply. If a company requires a large some of money to start your business from home; turn and run the other way, because it is a pretty good indicator, It is a scam.

Now, instead of asking yourself, “Can I make money with an online business from home?; why not ask yourself, “When am I going to get started to financial freedom?” Remember, there are many honest and legitimate online businesses from home, and you can definitely find one to fulfill your dreams.

Remember to thoroughly research all the online businesses from home that interest you. Protect yourself from scams and you will find that honest and legitimate online business you can build successfully.

5 Things To Remember When Creating A Blog

15.02.2010

Comments Off

When creating a blog you’ll want to keep a few things in mind from the very beginning that will help you to properly direct your efforts. If you aspire to become one of the most popular blogs in your niche your focus will have to be on the blog reader. If you are blogging to make money then realize your income will be dependent upon the people who visit your site. These people will ultimately decide how popular your blog is or how successful your promotional efforts may be so don’t lose sight of that.

With that said here are 5 areas you will not want to overlook or disregard especially if you are counting on your home business blog to earn you an income.

Establish Transparency

Allow your readers to get some insight into who you are and why you blog. By increasing their familiarity with you in this way you are gaining more trust from them. Don’t be afraid to share your opinion or a little bit about your personal interests, family or anything else that would be relevant to your blog or the readers.

This is especially important if you intend to promote any type of products on your site. Trust will be needed if readers are expected to make any purchases on what essentially will be your home business blog.

Create a Network

When posting take advantage of great content you may have found elsewhere and credit the source on your blog. By linking to other sites in this manner you will eventually have these sites link back to you creating a flow of traffic from their site.

Leave Comments

Visit other blogs within your community/niche for ideas on content, design, or even to see what others are talking about. Participate and if possible leave ONLY helpful, insightful, or informative comments. You will be creating a greater awareness of both you and your blog by doing this.

Do Your Research

Before you post anything be sure it is accurate and helpful to your readers. Don’t position yourself as an expert on something you know little or nothing about. Be willing to do the research if you are not already an expert and over time you will gain the recognition as an authority on the subject matter.

Show Gratitude

Remember what we spoke of earlier that your readers will be responsible for your ultimate success. With this in mind periodically extending your appreciation to them for their loyalty will only help to strengthen the bond between you and them. A simple thank you will suffice and an occasional ‘free’ report won’t hurt either. Besides gratitude is always good for the soul!

When creating a blog it is always smart to keep your ultimate goal in mind. Your site was created for the blog reader and their enjoyment. By catering to the needs of the visitors to your site you will put yourself in the position to become one of the most popular blogs in your niche. If you are blogging to make money then this will be of obvious importance to you since it will directly impact your income. Your continual attention to the 5 areas above will likely result in the greater satisfaction of your readers which will lead to the desired results you are seeking for your blog.

I Know We Just Met, But Will You Marry Me?

For those of you that are married, what would you have said to your spouse if they posed that question the first time you met them. You’d have probably thought they were insane, excused yourself by saying you had a sudden emergency and fled the scene of the crime.

Now you may think my example is extreme but many of the marketers on these various social networking sites commit these offenses every day. From the first time they meet you, they are throwing their business opportunities at you. It goes something like this…”Hi, I just got involved with the best business opportunity. No selling, no cost to get involved, and we have the BEST payout. Email me at me@Iamdesparate.com if interested”.

WOW, and sometimes they don’t even say hi. You might be laughing right now but I am serious and you know it’s true because although YOU would never do this, you have been proposed to many times. Why would I join your business without knowing anything about YOU? That’s right, YOU. People don’t join your business because you asked them to, they join because they trust you. They join your business because they like you. They join you because you have taken the time to nurture a relationship with them and now they know you.

The obstacle for some people is that they don’t know how or don’t care to take the time to build that relationship.

There are basically 4 reasons why marketers go for the speedy marriage proposal.
• Lack of quality leads
• Lack of training
• Lack of duplication
• Lack of income

Achieving success in MLM is a matter of doing a few things consistently. They include attracting quality leads and developing a brand. Marketing yourself online is the total opposite of marketing yourself offline. Offline, you can go after prospects in the traditional manner that most of us have been taught but online it’s all about getting your leads to start beating down your door.

Why would they do that you may ask? They will because you have developed your brand where you have something of value to offer. Once you understand that YOU, not your business opportunity, are the catch half of the battle will be won.

A Simple Technique to Boost Your Direct Sales without Cold Calling or Begging for Sales Parties

Have you considered working with another seller to maximize your marketing dollars? This is called cooperative (co-op) advertising and marketing. It means you team with another seller of a complementary product line to run ads, work shows, etc. It’s a great idea and one that is used by all types of industries.

To get the most from your cooperative efforts be sure to align yourself with sellers of products that your own customer base would enjoy. For instance, if you sell candles, you could co-op with sellers of other women-oriented products (skincare, cookware, children’s items, etc.).

You can swap leads with each other, run ads together, work shows, develop brochures promoting both product lines, etc. By doing this, you both get to promote your products and share the costs of doing so. Instead of footing the bill for a monthly promotional flier to be designed, printed and mailed, you would split the costs 50/50.

Co-ops have advantages besides just the financial savings. By working with another motivated seller, you are holding each other accountable for moving your businesses forward—much like having an exercise buddy. If you don’t show up for your morning walk, wouldn’t you feel guilty letting her down?

You can each develop goals and a simple marketing program for the upcoming months. Then you each know what you are working toward and what will be expected of you. You can lay out a budget for each task and agree up-front on who pays what so there are no surprising developments down the line.

One interesting idea is to join up with a seller of similar items and run an ad in a local publication. Normally it may be too expensive to run such an ad yourself, but by teaming up with one (or more sellers), you can cut your costs considerably and keep you business in front of the eye of your community.

If you run ads, don’t just have the run-of-the-mill “We sell such and such and we’re great!” ads. People see way too many of those. You need something that will catch the eye or something people will save. One such idea is to do a recipe in each ad. If your prospect is interested, she’ll cut it out and keep it—also keeping your name and business with it.

The recipe can have a slant for each of the co-op seller’s businesses. For instance, if you sell skincare and your co-seller sells children’s items, you could run recipes that are good for your skin/anti-aging and healthy recipes. Items such as salmon/fish, fresh veggies, etc. would work. Scour the internet and your cookbooks for recipes that contain anti-aging properties (there’s lots of information out there). In turn, you co-seller could run kid-approved recipes (things kids like).

Moms are constantly trying to find kid-friendly recipes that are also healthy, tasty and easy. If your recipes are unique and state that they are anti-aging or kid-friendly, etc. in ties into your advertising message.

For instance, if you run an ad with Salmon in Papillote with Garden Veggies (really a simple salmon cooked in parchment paper with veggies), be sure to promote it as a Beautiful Skin meal. At the bottom of the ad, invite the reader to call or email you for more Beautiful Skin ideas, including XYZ products, etc. Add a promo line to get them to call you. Something like “Call me before xx-xx-xxxx and mention this ad get a free skincare sample set.” Make certain your promo is good and legible. Don’t make the recipe section so large, your promo doesn’t have space. It is an ad for your business, after all!

If you run you ad consistently you will see return. The thing with advertising is that you must be consistent. Don’t run your ad once or twice and then give up. People will begin to count on seeing your ads and recipes and they’ll even look forward to them. If you make your recipes good and your promotions great, they will start calling! Switch off months with your co-sellers so you can each share the spotlight.

Your ads need not be large, just big enough to run a short recipe and the offer for both sellers. If you can afford ad space large enough, you can run two recipes and two offers. Work with a graphic designer or design one yourself on your computer. The publication will likely re-design your ad to fit the space. Be sure to get the space (mechanical requirements) of setting up the ad. You can call the publication to request a media or advertising kit.

One more note, those cheap little ads in the back of publications are great for one simple message, but will not support this type of advertising. These larger ads are more likely run-of-the-paper (ROP) ads. That means they will run in the general sections of the paper, not in the back classifieds. ROP ads are pricier, but since you have a co-seller or two to work with, you should be saving a significant amount! You may be able to request to run your ad in a certain section (Food, Lifestyle, etc.). These ads are an investment in your business and like any investment, may take a little time to pay off. Be patient!

10 Ways For The Network Marketer To Build Self Confidence

29.01.2010

Comments Off

I read an article posted on a self improvement blog site from two years ago that had this same headline and the list of 10 things to do below. The most interesting thing about the post was that there were about 420 comments, many several paragraphs in length.

The author hit a nerve I believe in his assertions that confidence can be improved by a combination of attitudes and behavior as stated in this list:

1. Dress Sharp
2. Walk Faster
3. Good Posture
4. Personal Commercial
5. Gratitude
6. Compliment other people
7. Sit in the front row
8. Speak up
9. Work out
10. Focus on contribution

His lead in stated the following:

“Self confidence is the difference between feeling unstoppable and feeling scared out of your wits. Your perception of yourself has an enormous impact on how others perceive you. Perception is reality — the more self confidence you have, the more likely it is you’ll succeed.”

For the network marketer, when trying to win over people into your business or convey any sense of leadership ability, you must be aware that people have a keen sense of your confidence. It’s like a sixth sense. It may be subtle, but people can sense it and they are watching for it.

Lack of confidence is very difficult to hide if you don’t have it. People are looking to invest in someone who conveys leadership qualities, one being that of confidence.

So you can say that your degree of success is in part, tied to your degree of self confidence. Your degree of self confidence is also reflective of how you handle fear, doubts and worries. Your ability to act on those perceived fears gives you a sense of confidence that can be perceived through your attitude and actions.

The key thought is whether you perceive anything as fear and to what degree. Something may be fearful to most people, but to you, it may be no big deal. The way you handle it conveys your sense of confidence that people see.

So if you are fearless you will always be perceived as confident. One must therefore look upon their thoughts without fear and they will develop a demeanor that is seen as confident. Sounds too simple right?

The difference between outright fear and feeling unstoppable is a state of mind that is hard to completely erase with simply putting on nice clothes or walking quickly. Thoughts change constantly.

Your ability to feel confident has to do with both your feelings of fear and your feelings of self worth. Subconscious thoughts of self doubt and self worth can sabotage you and limit your ability to counter your sense of fear in any given situation.

So when someone is perceived as not having self confidence, is what they are also seeing their self esteem? Yes, but acting courageously can be your ability to be confident while on the inside battling your feelings of self worth.

Your negative thoughts don’t always have to hold you back. It’s how you decide to act upon them that determines your confidence and how you are perceived.

Let’s say you are in a bar, you see an attractive person across the room and you’re buddy urges you to go over and ask her to dance. In fact, he challenges you. Your feeling of fear goes through the roof. You fear that you will be rejected and look like a fool in front of everyone.

Public humiliation (in the form of looking stupid while public speaking) is the number one fear of most Americans. Your voice of self esteem kicks in reminding you of what happened the last time you did such a thing. You replay the tapes and getting a chill over your body. You react with emotional pain and a decision not to risk it again for fear of experiencing this feeling of pain once again.

However, if you are a rejection junkie with extremely low self esteem, you will indeed go over to the person, get rejected, and then subconsciously affirm that you were right. Your low self esteem part of your brain said to you that there’s no way you can succeed with that woman. That you are not successful because of your ongoing negative thought patterns and its no time to start changing your thinking! Because that is who you are!

Now, let’s say the friend who challenged you decides to go over and ask the same woman to dance. Does he have fear? Perhaps. Does he look confident?

Yes. But he made the decision to act upon his perceived fears. He dismissed his thoughts of inaction because he dismissed the thoughts as being irrational and he had the power to control his own thoughts by dismissing them and to conquer them. The woman agreed to dance with him in part because he exuded self confidence. For it was not a reason for rejecting his offer had she chose.

Is having high self confidence merely a protective shield against feelings of fear? It is if you’re faking it. People can pretend and sometimes get away with it. But to not address the self sabotaging thoughts through internal dialogue will result in that suppressed deep down feeling of lacking confidence to persist.

Courage is the opposite of fearful. Courage is a perceived attribute one has when judging other’s attitude and behavior. Courage is “feeling the fear and doing it anyway”.

Afterwards, you can meditate and address your thoughts of fear so that next time you can always do “it” – without the fear – confidently.

“Somehow I can’t believe that there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C s. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.” – Walt Disney

Get Rid of Those Butterflies – 5 Easy Tips For Shy Networkers!

27.01.2010
13:08

If you are a reserved person the idea of networking and meeting people to tell them about your business can strike absolute terror in your soul. However, networking still remains a productive way for many sellers to help increase their leads base and grow their businesses. The following steps can help reserved professionals become more effective networkers:

1. Recognize and deal with the aspects of networking that bother you most. For example, if you’re scared of meeting people, begin by practicing with friends and family members.. Tell them about your interests, training and abilities. Or, if you’re worried about becoming tongue-tied, role-play your meetings until you feel confident about what to say.

2. Get very comfortable with your 30-second “commercial” so whenever you have the opportunity to tell it to someone it just rolls off your tongue. The commercial should included what you do, your specialty, what problem you can solve with your services, etc. It should let the person understand immediately what you do, your particular specialty (niche) and how it can help a particular problem. Think of it as your “verbal logo.”

For instance, when that person you’ve just given your verbal logo to sees you across the room, they should be able to easily identify you with what you do. Even though it will be rehearsed, be sure that you don’t sound that way. The easiest way is to have a couple of versions you can choose from at the last minute. This also helps if you’re standing with people whom you’ve given your verbal logo to and a new person walks up. You can introduce yourself and give a slightly different verbal logo so it doesn’t sound identical to the rest of the group. It should sound conversational and clear.

3. Make calls when your energy is highest. If you know that you’re more upbeat after lunch, save phone calls until then and use the morning for administrative tasks.

4. Know what you want to say when calling. Develop a script that includes your key points and use it to make sure you mention important items. Many introverts have difficulty making small talk. By learning about your contacts and their companies, you can direct your conversations and make them more meaningful.

5. Take time out to replenish yourself. Plan your schedule so that you have periods of solitude that allow you to recharge. For instance, don’t schedule a full day’s activities if you plan to network at an evening event.

While you don’t have to change yourself, you’ll need to learn extroverted skills and behaviors to become a more effective networker. Like an acquired taste, your appreciation for networking may grow. And when you start receiving the benefits, your appetite for it may even increase.

Internet Network Marketing – Why You Need A Website

20.01.2010
13:29

It’s obvious that if you don’t have a website then it’s going to be pretty tough to do business online. And I’m going to briefly tell you why the company provided website will never work to build your business online.

The company provided website is useful as a tool to educate your prospects once you have already captured their information and they are in your campaign. That’s about it. The reason why you need your own website is because you HAVE to position yourself as different from everyone else. Otherwise, what reasons do people have to join you?

Remember the reasons why people would join you in your business? How different are you if you go and enter your name in a form to get the same website everyone else and their uncle has? You’re not very different. Furthermore, those websites are not capture pages. They do not generate leads. Make no mistake, the most important thing to grow and expand your business is to constantly be generating new leads. Endless leads means endless business growth. When you discover how you can create endless leads at will, you created a system that will produce you endless money at will.

Hands down, that is the essence of what network marketing is about. It’s all about the leads. So the reason why most company specific pages don’t work is because:

1. They are terrible at generating leads. They have poor lead conversion rates.

2. They are mass duplicated systems, meaning everyone knows they are basically going to get the same thing. They are going to opt in and get the same boring emails about the company’s financial history, the market trends, and the same stuff they hear from every other company.

3. The auto responder system set up on those pages will not suffice to do the job we need to get done. Plus the page is not capturing leads anyway, and I would never spend my hard earned money to send people to my website if the website was only a fraction as productive as one I could build myself.

Hence the reason you need to create your own website.

Now there are two different versions of websites that you can create for our purposes of capturing leads on the internet. I am going to cover them both and tell you what situations you want to use them both in.

1. A squeeze page. A squeeze page is a website that is 100% created with the purpose of doing nothing other then capturing a lead. It is meant to squeeze a person’s information in the quickest and most effective way possible. Squeeze pages are well oiled funnels that lead a person directly to the desired action you want them to take. In this case, it is leaving their contact information in exchange for the information they want from you.

2. A content page. A content page is more like your typical full blown website. A content page is generally less productive at converting leads, but very useful for many reasons none the less. In particular when it comes to generating a certain type of traffic which I will be talking about later on. Not only that but you can load your content page with all sorts of ways to capture people’s emails and generate opt ins. Once you have the traffic…the possibilities are endless.

In order to do internet network marketing successful I suggest you personally create both of these different types of websites. Your priority however, is absolutely on a squeeze page.

If you just had a squeeze page, you could still get by A LOT better, but a full blown content website comes in very handy on the back end of your campaign. A content website is essential for one other task, and that is Search Engine Optimization. Search Engine Optimization is a term that stands for your website being ranked highly in the major search engines. Since search engines are getting very competitive now a days, the only way sites get ranked very highly at all is by having LOTS of relevant and targeted information.

A squeeze page would never do it. So if you want to take total advantage of the internet to build a network marketing organization, I recommend tackling both of these website projects and utilizing all of it to its fullest potential.
